Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP is a U.S Department of Education funded program with Wichita State University as the administrator of this program. Children in foster care are given top priority for services.

Objectives

1. Each year, at least 80% of KKGU students enrolled in secondary school will be promoted to the next grade level.

2. Each project year, 70% of participating high school seniors will complete a secondary school diploma, or its recognized equivalent, and 65% will enroll in a postsecondary program.

3. Each project year, middle and high school participants will show a 20% increase, and their parents a 15%, in knowledge of postsecondary education entrance requirements, application procedures, and costs associated with attendance and types of financial aid.

The goal of the KKGU program is to assist students with graduating from High School and to further their education by obtaining a degree from a 4 year college.
