Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP is a U.S Department of Education funded program with Wichita State University as the administrator of this program. Children in foster care are given top priority for services.

Objectives

1. 80% of students if foster care are enrolled in secondary school and are on track for graduation at the end of each grade year.

2. 60% of KKGU students will pass Algebra 1 or its equivalent by the end of 9th grade.

3. Each project year, 70% of participating high school seniors in foster care will complete a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and 60% of these graduates will enroll in a post-secondary program.

4. 70% of the graduating seniors enrolled into college-level math and English will not need college remediation courses.

5. Each project year, 80% of graduating seniors in foster care submit the FAFSA application.

The goal of the KKGU program is to assist students with graduating from High School and to further their education by obtaining a degree from a 4 year college.

All services are FREE for eligible students in Kansas.
